- RAMANAND | Since you have already made som many films you have a ready showreel. You would have also developed a few contacts.
Selling a film to a financier is like making a project report and going to a bank for funding your project. The bank funds depending on your capability to deliver and the comfort zone they have with you.
Register your script and then make a great brochure with the story idea including who you plan to have in the cast and credits.
Make a detailed break up of your costings and expected recoveries. Your costing should include all details of number of days, locations etc. We are all aware of the corporates like UTV, UFO, Pyramid Saimira, Adlabs, Percept. PVR, etc. Find a contact and talk to them
The other way out is make the film, with your own funds, using a cheap DV camcorder like a Pd 170. The cost of production shouldnt be too high, If well planned. If the product is good any of these corporates may fund you to make it again in a better format.

- RAKESH | Handycams can shoot in ambient light. There is no solution to low light conditions except adding some lighting sources. Why don’t you carry an electric sungun for the shoot. You also have an option of sing a 150w portable light which draws power from the car battery. You can shoot in the day and add a tint to make it look like night in post production. You should consult an editor before you shoot. we feel it might not get the actual night impact one may want.

- TANMAY SHRIVASTAVA | It is possible to do a reverse telecine(blow up to 16 or 35mm) but your quality from CD after blowing up would be very poor and watchable.
The reverse telecine obviously depends on the place you do it in. It would cost you about Rs 11000/ minute + cost of sound transfer for a place like Prasad labs in Chennai.
The exact costs / packages could be worked out once you know for sure your final project.

- ANIL KUMAR | One cannot really study for preparing for FTII. Most of the time, the questions asked their relate to your observation skills. They actually try to guage your passion for cinema.
For eg one of the examinees wanted to be a sound recordist. He was from a small place in Punjab. The examiner asked him about what did he find in the fields of Punjab. The examiner expected to know about what he saw as well as what he heard.
The best way is to visit the campus, hang around there, meet students there and get an idea of what they went through. You will also get a feel about the place.

- YASH | The difference between a film maker and a producer is that a producer is a businessman and a film maker knows how to make films with passion without regard to its financial inputs/outputs.
Its more important to be a producer than a film maker though a combination of both is ideal.
Selling a film to a financier is like making a project report and going to a bank for funding your project. The bank funds depending on your capability to deliver and the comfort zone they have with you.
Register your script and then make a great brochure with the story idea including who you plan to have in the cast and credits.
Make a detailed break up of your costings and expected recoveries. Your costing should include all details of number of days, locations etc. We are all aware of the corporates like UTV, UFO, Pyramid Saimira, Adlabs, Percept. PVR, etc. Find a contact and talk to them.
The other way out is make the film, with your own funds, using a cheap DV camcorder like a Pd 170. the cost of production shouldnt be too high, if well planned.if the product is godd any of these corportes may fund you to make it again in a better format.
